We partner with clients who believe—like we do—that showing up as your true self is the foundation of meaningful connection. Our work is rooted in creativity, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to aligning with brands whose values resonate with ours.
We believe in working with people who care deeply about their communities, who champion inclusivity, sustainability, and integrity, and who aren’t afraid to stand behind what they believe in. We thrive alongside clients who want to grow their digital presence without compromising who they are.
At Bean Socials, we understand the challenges small businesses face when establishing or elevating their online presence. Whether you’re taking your first steps on social media or refining an existing strategy, our approach centers on crafting content that feels real, relatable, and reflective of the heart behind your brand.
The Person Behind Bean Socials

Hi, I’m Gillian, the founder, strategist, and creative mind behind Bean Socials. I’m a Social Media Manager and Content Creator with eight years of experience working with clients across a wide variety of industries. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Studies from the University of the Fraser Valley, with a minor in Geography and an extended minor in Communications, alongside certificates in communications, graphic design, and web design. I’m currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Environment and Management at Royal Roads University.
If you’re wondering about the name, “Bean” is a nickname my dad gave me when I was young. Both of my businesses carry it, Bean Socials and Bean Stuck Designs, because I wanted my work to feel personal, grounded, and reflective of who I am rather than adopting a generic agency identity.
My journey into freelancing began during my undergraduate studies, when I joined freelance platforms to help pay down student loans. After years of balancing contract work with traditional employment, I graduated during the height of COVID-19, a moment when businesses everywhere were shifting online. I saw an opportunity to help brands adapt, reconnect, and communicate in new ways, and I reignited my freelancing career with renewed purpose.

When I later moved cities to pursue my master’s degree, I chose to fully commit to social media marketing and launch my own business. Supporting small businesses as they grow their online presence quickly proved to be more than work, it became something I truly love. Through continuous learning, platform-specific training, and hands-on experience, I’ve shaped Bean Socials into a place where strategy meets creativity, and where authenticity always comes first.
A Twist in the Restaurant Industry: Victoria Taste Buds

Alongside my work with Bean Socials, I also founded Victoria Taste Buds, a passion project born from my love for food, community, and accessible dining experiences. What started as a fun way to document my favorite meals evolved into a platform dedicated to inclusivity, transparency, and celebrating the diverse food scene here in Victoria.
As a food influencer, I’ve collaborated with restaurants and hospitality businesses across the region, giving me a unique advantage when helping clients in the industry. I understand not only how to create visually compelling food content, but also how to tell a story that resonates with diners, one rooted in authenticity, approachability, and the real experiences people are looking for.
Working closely with chefs, owners, and local spots has given me valuable insight into how hospitality brands can connect with their audiences in meaningful ways. This perspective enriches my work at Bean Socials and allows me to provide tailored strategies for food-focused businesses looking to stand out in a competitive, fast-moving space.
